Fraser Balmain joined Gloucester Rugby ahead of the 2017-18 season from Leicester Tigers, and came to the club with plenty of Premiership experience under his belt.

The Geordie forward arrived at Kingsholm after coming up through the ranks at Welford Road, as has represented England against the Barbarians.

His experience and power in the front row proved to be a welcome addition to the club as he made 18 appearances in his first season at Kingsholm. 

He was even more impressive in his second season at the club, being named as Forward of the Season by the Gloucester Rugby coaching team.

In the 2020/21 season, Balmain continued to impress, particularly at the scrum, where his experience and strength have proved to be a real weapon for Gloucester Rugby.
