Llewellyn to make debut in Gloucester Rugby's trip to Saracens

Summer addition, Max Llewellyn, is set to make his Gloucester Rugby debut against Saracens this weekend.

The Welshman, who made his international debut over the summer, made the switch to Kingsholm from Cardiff Rugby over the summer.

Gloucester Rugby will be looking to back up their opening day win over Nottingham last weekend, but are in for a tough test against the English champions.

In the front-row, Argentina international, Santi Socino, makes his first start of the season alongside Jamal Ford-Robinson and Ciaran Knight.

Arthur Clark captains the side from the second-row, where he is joined by Cam Jordan.

Ben Donnell moves from the second-row to the flank, where he joins Freddie Thomas and Jack Clement, who scored two tries against Nottingham.

Donnell's former London Irish teammate, Caolan Englefield, is poised for a debut at scrum-half. Outside Englefield, last week's Stowford Press Player of the Match, George Barton starts again.

Llewellyn wears the 12 shirt, with Louis Hillman-Cooper alongside him in the centre.

Jake Morris, Josh Hathaway and Reece Dunn, all try scorers last weekend, form an exciting back three.

On the bench, academy graduate, Ioan Jones is set for a first first-team appearance.

The Katherine Lady Berkeley product, who attended Dean Close Sixth Form,  has been in the Gloucester Rugby Academy since he was 14-years-old.

Jones trained and played up with England U18s as an U17, making the team of the Six Nations tournament a year young. He represented England U18s for two years and recently played in an U19 development fixture against Italy.

Jones' Gloucester Rugby Academy U18 Head Coach, Matt Teague, is proud of the latest graduate to the senior team.

"Ioan did an excellent job of balancing school and rugby commitments with us in his pursuit of his dream of a professional contract with his hometown club.

"This balance is not just a credit to Ioan but the support network in place with his close knit family and schooling both at KLB and Dean Close, that has allowed him to develop and flourish on the Gloucester Rugby Academy pathway."

Club Captain, Lewis Ludlow, is also amongst the replacements, as he edges towards a 200th appearance for the Club.

Also on the bench are England U20 trio of Archie McArthur, Afolabi Fasogbon and Danny Eite, hooker Seb Blake, scrum-half Matty Jones and utility back, Morgan Adderly-Jones.
